11-12-21 THOUGHTS
I feel different this morning than yesterday. Yesterday it was pronounced officially that I have Covid. I did not set my alarm this morning, I did not intend to write a post for today. But here I am, here we are. I feel good and with the Lord’s help, and your prayers, we will get through this.
You tell me why my feeble mind turned to lepers this morning? I’m in quarantine for 10 days. Surely the “unclean” label is felt. The “takeaway” in the story below is THANKFULNESS. God chose the lowliest of them all to be the thankful man, the man wholly healed. I have an old lesson in file titled “Where Are The Nine?” There’s the other side of the lesson. We must never take the countless blessings of our Lord for granted! The BLESSING OF HOPE IN CHRIST JESUS DEMANDS OUR THANKSGIVING IN LIVING! We are nearing the THANKSGIVING season aren’t we? Let’s give thanks always and be grateful for our VICTORY IN JESUS!
Luke 17:11-19 While He was on the way to Jerusalem, He was passing between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As He entered a village, ten leprous men who stood at a distance met Him; 13 and they raised their voices, saying, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!" 14 When He saw them, He said to them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." And as they were going, they were cleansed. 15 Now one of them, when he saw that he had been healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice, 16 and he fell on his face at His feet, giving thanks to Him. And he was a Samaritan. 17 Then Jesus answered and said, "Were there not ten cleansed? But the nine — where are they? 18 "Was no one found who returned to give glory to God, except this foreigner?" 19 And He said to him, "Stand up and go; your faith has made you well."
My Prayer:
You have blessed us O God beyond measure. Teach us to live thankfully as your adopted children. May we express to this world, the story of love and hope that comes through Christ Jesus. Help us to be the light of eternal hope. May our thankfulness come into your presence with each breath O God! In Jesus name Amen
